Given is not a discovery problem for you to solve. Everyone here arrived intending to donate — the only question is to whom. Listing is free, and there is no contract.
Given takes 3% of each gift. There are no listing, subscription or placement fees.
The 3% is shown to the giver before they confirm, alongside exactly what you receive.
What you get
Every listed organization gets an account with real editing rights. Nothing here requires emailing us to change a photo.
Run a fundraiser with a goal and an end date. Progress updates as gifts land, and you can end it at any time.
Post to your page and to the feeds of people who follow you. Edit or delete anything you have posted.
Text alone makes every organization look identical. Add your own imagery and it stops being a directory listing.
Thank a gift directly. The giver sees it on their record — a thing almost no platform lets you do.
How the money moves
Given is a conduit, not a fund. It does not hold balances, does not invest anything, and does not decide where a gift goes — the giver does.
Given reports the facts of each gift. The acknowledgment your donor needs comes from you, as it must.
Givers earn in-app credit for giving. It has no cash value and comes out of nothing you receive — your share is the gift minus 3%.
Given tracks what a giver has filed with their employer. The matched money is paid by the employer directly, and never passes through us.
If someone fundraises for you and you would rather they did not, say so and it comes down.
Getting listed
Applications are reviewed by hand against the IRS Exempt Organizations file. Expect a reply within a few days.
As registered, not as branded, if the two differ.
Your nine-digit employer identification number.
A name and an email at your organization's own domain.
Optional, and it makes verification considerably faster.
Send those to charities@joingiven.com and we will take it from there. Once Given is open, this becomes a form inside the app.
